INTRODUCTION
I am a faculty member and Academic Advisor in the Department of Public Health and Nutrition at EIU. I earned two bachelor’s degrees from EIU—a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology—before completing a Master of Science in Family & Consumer Sciences. In 2025, I earned my Doctorate in Health Sciences from A.T. Still University.
My research focuses on women’s health and miscarriage support systems, bystander intervention, health promotion and communication, and sexual health. I am particularly interested in how individuals and communities engage with health-related information and in strategies that promote positive health behaviors.
At EIU, I teach a variety of courses, including Research Methods, Women’s Health, Human Health, Community Health, Health Program Planning, and Motivational Interviewing. As an advisor, I support student success and enjoy seeing students find their career path.
I am a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and a trained Mental Health First Aid instructor. I am passionate about equipping students with the skills to promote health, address disparities, and support well-being in diverse communities.
