INTRODUCTION
I am interested in Midwestern rural history and land-use and human-environment relationships. My publications focus primarily on agricultural land-use change in the Midwest and Great Plains. In the classroom, I help students understand just how wondrous the world around them is, and how thankful we should be for being alive in our current place and time.
I'm associate editor of the journal , and co-author of the book (with John C. Hudson).
