Review and Accept Your Financial Aid

Watch for Your Financial Aid Notification

When your financial aid offer is ready:

• You will receive an email notification
• Your award letter will appear in your MyEIU checklist

Log in to MyEIU to view your offer and continue with the next steps.

Step 1: Log In to PAWS

To review and accept your awards, log in to the PAWS system.

• Login via your MyEIU checklist or go to PAWS directly at
• Sign in using your EIU username and password.

Step 2: Open Your Financial Aid Dashboard

After logging in:

1. In the upper right corner, select the correct Aid Year

Step 3: Complete the Title IV Authorization

Before accepting aid, you must complete a required authorization.

1. Click View Questions
2. Complete the Title IV Disbursement Authorization

This allows your financial aid to be applied to your student account.

Step 4: Review and Accept Your Awards

Next, review your financial aid package.

1. Select the Award Offer tab
2. Review each award carefully
3. Choose to accept or decline each award

Adjusting Federal Loan Amounts

If you plan to accept a federal loan but want to borrow a different amount:

• Select Modify
• Enter the amount you wish to borrow

Federal loan amounts are automatically divided between the fall and spring semesters.

Step 5: Agree to Terms and Conditions

After making your selections, review and agree to the Terms and Conditions to finalize your financial aid.

Your aid cannot be processed until this step is completed.

Important Deadline

You should accept your financial aid by June 1.

Some awards have limited funding and may be cancelled after this date.

If your financial aid offer becomes available after June 1, please accept it within two weeks of receiving the offer.

Trouble Logging In?

You can find your EIU username and password in your MyEIU checklist.

If you have not activated your EIU username

1. Log in to MyEIU
2. Open your Checklist
3. Select Activate Your EIU Username
4. Follow the instructions provided

If you decide not to attend EIU or plan to enroll in a future semester, please let us know.
