EIU Night August 9 at Chicago White Sox game

Students, alumni, faculty, fans invited to see White Sox take on AL Central foe Cleveland Guardians 

(Charleston, IL) — 海角大神 is calling all students, alumni, faculty, and fans to be a part of the EIU Night on Saturday, August 9. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. as the hometown Chicago White Sox take on the Cleveland Guardians at Rate Field, located in the heart of Chicago’s famous South Side at 333 W. 35th Street.

“We’re excited to gather with our EIU friends and family to enjoy the cheers, the thrill of the game, and the sea of pride we all have for EIU,” said Eastern’s Vice President of Advancement Mindy Spencer. “We hope everyone who is able can join us for a night of major league memories, major league baseball, and major league fun.”

Spencer added that this year marks the 125^th anniversary of the White Sox, so other notable activities at the game include the first 15,000 fans receiving a complementary 1960 Bill Veeck Bobblehead, as well as the customary postgame Fireworks Show.

There are a variety of ticket packages available for EIU Night at Rate Field, including:

·       Patio Package - This package includes a discounted game ticket and patio pass featuring two hours of all-you-can-eat and drink ballpark staples (from 4:40 to 6:40 p.m.).

·       Standard Ticket Package - This package includes a discounted Game Ticket.

This event is being hosted by EIU’s Alumni Association.
