Disable Private Networking to Minimize Wi-Fi Disconnections
To minimize disconnections from EIU Wi-Fi, private networking needs to be disabled on each device.
On Android Devices:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap on Network & Internet.
- Select Private DNS.
- Choose Off to disable Private DNS.
- Exit the menu to save your changes.
Note: On some Samsung devices, the path may be Settings > Connections > More connection settings > Private DNS.
On Apple Devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.):
- Go to the Settings app.
- Tap on Wi-Fi.
- Tap the information button (i) next to the name of the Wi-Fi network you're connected to.
- Tap on Private Wi-Fi Address.
- Select Off to disable the feature.
- You may need to rejoin the network for the changes to take effect.
Note: iOS 18 and later offers three options: Off, Fixed, and Rotating. Select "Off" to completely disable private addressing.
