How do I use Connect @EIU?
Connect @ EIU lets our support team safely view your computer and help solve issues in real time. All you need is the 4-character code from your technician and a few clicks to get started. Follow the steps below for your device, and you will be connected in minutes.
Windows Users
How to join a remote support session
- Open your web browser and go to .
- In the Join with a code field, type the 4-character code the technician gives you.
- Click the blue arrow to continue.
You will see a screen asking you to download the app.
- After the file downloads, open it from your browser download list or from your computer Downloads folder.
- If a confirmation message appears, click Run to start the app.
- Select Consent to Control when prompted.
The technician can now control your computer and help you.
When the session ends, you will see a message confirming that the technician is no longer connected.
Mac Users
How to join a remote support session
- Open your web browser and go to .
- In the Join with a code field, enter the 4-character code provided by the technician.
- Click the blue arrow to continue.
You will see a screen with a Download App button.
- Click Download App and wait for the file to finish downloading.
- Open the file from your browser download list or from your computer Downloads folder.
- If a confirmation message appears, click Open to start the app.
You will see a notice that you are connected to a session. The technician can now control your computer and assist you.
When the session ends, a message will confirm that the connection has closed.
Mac Compatibility Help
Some Macs may block the Connect @ EIU app because of default security settings. If the app will not open, follow these steps:

Open the Apple menu and select System Preferences.

Choose Security and Privacy.

Click the lock icon and enter your Mac administrator password.

Under Allow apps downloaded from, select Anywhere.
Close the window and try launching the app from .
