Morning - keith Kohanzo

Keith Kohanzo is a lifelong educator, mentor, and public servant whose work has shaped generations of young people and helped define student development practices both locally and nationally. Over a distinguished 34-year career at 海角大神, starting as a Residence Hall Counselor, followed by 27 years as the founding director of the Office of Judicial Affairs (now the Dean of Students Office), Keith established the University鈥檚 first Code of Student Conduct鈥攃reating a framework rooted not only in accountability, but in compassion and growth. His philosophy of caring accountability has guided countless students toward success, offering second chances and reinforcing the belief that education extends beyond the classroom.
A recognized leader in higher education, Keith was a founding member of the Association for Student Judicial Affairs (now the Association for Student Conduct Administration), helping to shape a profession that now spans all 50 states and institutions worldwide. His influence continues to be felt through the standards and practices he helped establish.
Beyond campus, Keith鈥檚 commitment to youth development spans more than six decades. As the nation鈥檚 longest-serving member of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, the Navy's youth program, he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He trained thousands of young people in leadership, discipline, and seamanship, including both American and Canadian Sea Cadets on the Great Lakes and as an exchange officer in British Columbia.
Keith impact on the community has been profound. He was an active volunteer in Charleston's Big Brother Big Sisters program as well as founding Scouting America's Troop 141 in 1999. He developed it into one of the region鈥檚 most successful troops. Under his leadership, more than 25% of Troop 141 scouts have achieved the rank of Eagle鈥攆ar surpassing the 5% national average. His dedication to service has inspired scouts to complete numerous community projects, from environmental conservation along the Embarrass River to the creation of outdoor learning spaces in Charleston. His scouting leadership has been recognized with the God and Service Award of the United Methodist Church, and with Scouting's Greater Saint Louis Area Council's Silver Beaver Award, as well as numerous other honors. He has also provided significant leadership at Wesley United Methodist Church and the EIU Wesley Foundation.
A recipient of the 海角大神 Distinguished Alumnus Award and the Jefferson Award for Public Service, Keith Kohanzo exemplifies a life of service, leadership, and enduring impact. His legacy reflects a deep commitment to empowering others, strengthening communities, and advancing the greater good.
Afternoon - COl. Leon Rogers

Leon, a native of Chicago, Illinois, began his military career in 1996 by enlisting in the Illinois National Guard as an 88M Truck Driver with the 634th Forward Support Battalion while completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He later attended 海角大神, where he joined ROTC, earned a Master of Business Administration, and commissioned as an Armor Officer. In 2006, he joined the Acquisition Corps and holds DAWIA Level III certifications in Contracting and Program Management.
COL Rogers also earned an M.S. in Management of Information Systems from the Florida Institute of Technology and an M.S. in National Security and Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School. He is a graduate of the Joint and Combined Warfighter School and the Joint Logistics Course.
His command assignments include Tank Platoon Leader, Comanche Troop and HHT Commander in the 4th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, Director of Contracting, Battalion Commander of the Regional Contracting Center Qatar, and Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems.
Key staff roles include Squadron Maintenance Officer, Chief of Contracting (OEF), Warranted Contracting Officer for the Apache 64E ACAT1 Program, Contracting Division Chief for Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Executive Officer to the ACC Commanding General, Joint Staff Branch Chief of Operations and Plans for the Operational Contract Support Division, ACoS G4/Program Integrator to Arlington National Cemetery, and Executive Officer to the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology) (ASA(ALT)).
Currently, as the Military Deputy to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Plans, Programs, and Resources (DASA-PPR) in the Office of ASA(ALT), COL Rogers oversees the planning, programming, budgeting, and execution of over $30 billion annually for Army modernization. He manages acquisition human capital, PM/CPE auditability, and compliance efforts, while supporting the Army鈥檚 Continuous Capability Analysis and Assessment (C2A2) to inform resource allocation, portfolio governance, and modernization investments.
His awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (silver and oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal (two oak leaf clusters), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (three oak leaf clusters), Joint Staff Badge, and Army Staff Badge. He is also a recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
